What if a cultural venue could become a living showcase for circular design?

For the foyer of De Werf, the cultural centre of Aalst, we are exploring how circular and upcycled design can become part of a public space that is constantly in use and constantly evolving. Rather than treating the interior as a finished setting, the project looks at how carefully selected pieces can enter the space, be used, gain meaning and potentially move into new contexts over time.

The ambition is to bring designers, makers and the cultural venue together, turning the foyer into a place where circular design is not simply displayed, but becomes part of everyday cultural life.

A space with room for culture and for objects with a life beyond their first placement.
