Congrats, you just discovered May Again’s very first Inspiration Capsule in Mod’arte’s pop-up store in Antwerp!

From construction waste to a noble design object: let us present you doet_’s Core lamp!

The story

By using materials found on construction sites, the CORE lamp pushes the industrial aesthetic one step further. The locally sourced concrete core reveals its aggregates, giving the lamp a raw yet noble appearance. Each piece is unique, with subtle traces of its past.

A copper tube runs through the center, glowing warmly when illuminated. Small openings at the start of the tube secure the cord, while a gentle bevel at the end adds refined detail.

Once a byproduct of renovation work, these concrete cores are transformed into sculptural light pieces that give interiors a bold, circular twist.

Room with a large standing mirror, a chair, two hanging lightbulbs, two potted plants, and a closed door.

The Upcycling Process

  • Concrete cores collected during construction of a new foundation slab (sourced locally).

  • Only two extra holes drilled to connect the copper tube.

  • Copper tube inserted with openings for cord and bevel finish.

  • Felt layer added underneath to protect surfaces.

This lamp is part of the very first Inspiration Capsule curated by May Again – a glimpse into how upcycled design can redefine interiors with bold stories and timeless style.
